Good morning Friends and Families,

We are looking to hear today from Public Health on the official clearance of our isolation period and we expect it to be soon.

Our two team members that tested positive have recovered and been cleared but will not be returning to work until they’re feeling 100%. There were no residents or other team members that tested positive or contracted the virus on-site and we are thankful for our team’s diligence on hand hygiene and PPE use.

The day after the isolation period is cleared residents will be able to come downstairs and resume pre-isolation activities. Lunch and Dinner will resume in the dining room and the bistro will be open for service during the regular times. We are going to be increasing precautions to try and keep our cohorts and touch points minimal.

Recreation activities will also be resuming with additional precautions in place.

We will also be resuming family visits and outings for residents however, we request for residents and families to be aware of the public health directives around leaving the community. Please try and keep outings minimal to obtain essential supplies, visit medical appointments, and try to stay within the immediate community. It’s also very important for families to self-screen before coming to visit their loved ones and not come in if they’re unwell. We also require that residents and families wear a mask when going out of the community – especially when in close proximity.

We also know that a lot of families would like to take their loved ones out for the holiday season to family gatherings. Please note that our protocol is to have residents isolate for 14 days upon return from any overnight stays. We humbly request that all other outings are limited to essential visits only and that the Public Health Directives set out by Dr. Bonnie Henry are followed closely. We want to ensure that we are keeping our community safe throughout the holidays. We will be offering a delicious holiday meal for our residents to enjoy safely at the community should they wish to stay in!

We would like to sincerely thank the families and loved ones for their patience and understanding during this challenging time. We are thankful that we were able to contain the spread of the virus in the community and remain at low risk. We also want to thank the families that offered words of encourage and tokens of their appreciation. They were enjoyed by all!

We will be sending a communication out later today on Public Health’s decision on removing isolation precautions.

We would like to inform you that after the last COVID communication, we will be resuming our regular weekly communications and only send an additional communication memo if there are any significant changes to report.

The communications we send to you are also posted to our Website each day after they are sent out to you. If you have other family or friends who would like to be updated, please feel free to direct them to www.retirementconcepts.com

We would also like to share a video of the leadership team at Langley Seniors Village that highlights the importance of what we do and thanks our front line health care workers. Please feel free to share with others as the message is short but powerful. https://youtu.be/OJneipdKEto
