Welcome to our latest updates at Kamloops Seniors Village! On behalf of the Kamloops Seniors Village Family – we would like to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving Weekend. We thank you for your support over these past few weeks.

 With the Current Outbreaks around the province and within the Kamloops Region, we remind everyone to remain aware & stay vigilant with their hand hygiene, PPE, and Social Distancing to continue to keep everyone safe.

VISITOR VACCINATION REQUIREMENTS

As announced in the Tuesday, October 5, 2021 B.C. COVID-19 pandemic update, visitor policy for long-term care and all other health-care settings in B.C. is being updated. Starting Oct. 12, 2021, visitors to long-term care and assisted-living communities will be required to continually show their vaccine card for proof of full immunization. Partially vaccinated visitors will be permitted entry until November 30, 2021. After this date, all visitors will need to provide proof they are fully vaccinated.

Effective October 12, 2021:
*   Visitors who do not demonstrate that they are either partially or fully vaccinated will not be able to enter Kamloops Seniors Village (excluding children under 12 years or those with an approved medical exemption).

Effective November 30, 2021:
*   Visitors must demonstrate they are fully vaccinated to enter Kamloops Seniors Village (excluding children under 12 years or those with an approved medical exemption).

*Full vaccination/immunization for COVID-19 is considered as 14 days after receiving both doses of COVID-19 vaccine

 KSV Visiting hours is from 8AM-9PM daily, with all visitors exiting the building by 9 PM

 Here is a brief summary of the KSV screening process:

  1. Visitors arrive at KSV, and provided a medical grade mask to be worn in ALL COMMON AREAS and to/from the tenant/resident’s suite
  2. Screening performed and temperature taken for all guests
  3. Proof of Vaccination is Required– provide proof of vaccination and documented on the screening form
  4. Visitors to additionally ‘Sign In & Out” in our visitor log at the Main Reception lower desk counter. Signing OUT is crucial so we are aware who is in and out of our building in the event of an emergency
  5. We will be asking for support from family and friends when they are coming for their visits to go straight to the designated resident/tenant’s room they are visiting and leaving along the same accord.
  6. Proceed to your loved one’s room without an escort and exit the building by 9 PM. Complex Care friends & families will be provided the door codes if needed to exit both the neighbourhood and foyer.
  7. Remember to SIGN OUT

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding as we continue to work through these changes. We are looking forward to seeing and welcoming family back to the communities on a more regular basis. Please share this with your entire family and friends so they are aware of these changes.

We continue to share updated information that we receive from the Health Authority in a timely manner, as updates and changes can occur quite quickly.

When you come for a visit, we ask that you continue to be respectful and patient with our screeners and teams as we adapt to these new protocols and processes.
