UPDATE ON COVID-19 – MARCH 26, 2020

Dufferin Care Centre

To all Family Members:

Thank you to all of the families for your support and patience with us while we work hard to keep all of your loved ones safe from COVID-19.

Status Update

The families of the eight residents who were in contact with a COVID+ staff member continue to be communicated with on a regular basis about the status of their loved ones. We have received lab results on the last two swabs and both were negative. The families have been informed. All of the eight residents continue to remain on isolation.

All other 147 residents present NO COVID-19 signs or symptoms.

Communication

We continue to communicate with all families via e-mail. We will also continue to call family members of the eight directly impacted residents, by phone – on Monday’s, Wednesday’s, and Friday’s. If there are any changes between these calls, families will be updated immediately.

We continue to post daily updates on the Retirement Concepts Website and Facebook Page.

We are working closely with our Corporate Office and Fraser Health Authority to ensure that appropriate care requirements are met.

Lockdown at Dufferin Care Centre

The community remains on mandatory lockdown as per the Order of the Medical Health Officer.

Staffing

Today we are again staffed adequately, and everyone is working as a team to ensure he best care possible during this time.

We have adequate supplies today. We continue to be in need of non-touch thermometers. We are communicating with The Chinese Society of Coquitlam regarding a previous offer of donations of supplies

Our staff continue to show tremendous dedication and commitment to caring for our residents.
