UPDATE ON COVID-19 – March 25, 2020

To all Family Members:

The following information outlines continued measures in place with respect to the COVID- 19 situation at Dufferin Care Centre.

Status Update

The families of the eight residents who were in contact with a COVID+ staff member continue to be communicated with on a regular basis. They are being kept informed of the status of their loved ones . Two swabs have been sent to BCCDC and we are awaiting results. All of the eight residents continue to remain on isolation.

All other 147 residents present NO COVID-19 signs or symptoms.

Communication

We continue to communicate with all families via e-mail. We will also continue to call family members of the eight directly impacted residents, by phone – on Monday’s, Wednesday’s, and Friday’s. If there are any changes between these calls, families will be updated immediately.

We continue to post daily updates on the Retirement Concepts Website and Facebook Page.

We are working closely with Corporate Office and Fraser Health Authority to ensure that appropriate care requirements are met.

Lockdown at Dufferin Care Centre

The community remains on mandatory lockdown.

Staffing

Today we are staffed adequately, and everyone is working as a team to bridge the gap.

Supplies

We have adequate supplies today. We are in need of non-touch thermometers. The Chinese Society of Coquitlam has offered a donation of more supplies for which we are grateful.

Teamwork

Our staff continue to show tremendous dedication and we are grateful.
