To all Family Members:
We are pleased to announce that we are working on a plan to allow visitors again at Dufferin Care Centre. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we prepare a plan following FHA guidelines.
We know all families and friends are anxiously awaiting visitations at Dufferin Care Centre. As soon as we have details, we will pass those along to families. If you have urgent inquiries regarding visitations please contact DUFF.email@example.com.
In the meantime, a gentle reminder that we continue to follow the direction of our provincial Health Officer, DR. Bonnie Henry, and our no visitor policy remains in place. We understand your eagerness to come and visit your loved ones but at this time our no visitor policy remains the same.
We continue to accept clothing, food, and other essential items. Please note if you do bring items for a loved one, to PLEASE ENSURE IT IS LABELLED WITH THE RESIDENT NAME, ROOM NUMBER AND DATE. We are also now allowing food items that are prepared at home. Food items that are prepared at home must be packaged in a single use food container that can be discarded, labelled with the name, date/time it was prepared. It is preferred that any food items brought in have a longer shelf life and do not require refrigeration and is non-perishable. If you have any questions about what can be dropped off, please reach out to, Community Relations Manager at firstname.lastname@example.org or 604-351-2200.
Facetime and Window visits continue. Please note it is BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. Please reach out to email@example.com or call 604-552-1166 ext. 308 to schedule a FACETIME or WINDOW visit with your loved one. Recreation is doing their best to respond as quickly as possible. If you have left a voicemail or email they will return it as soon as they can. We cannot accommodate unscheduled window visits.
Close monitoring of all residents and staff continues. All staff are screened as they enter the building. All staff continue to wear masks and goggles while they are on resident units.
If you have questions related to a specific resident, please address those matters to: DUFF.firstname.lastname@example.org. As you might expect, staff are extremely busy but we will respond as quickly as possible.
Lockdown at Dufferin Care Centre
The community remains on mandatory lockdown as per the Order of the Medical Health Officer.
Our staffing shortage remains in Recreation and we are actively recruiting for Activity Aides. We have hired a casual part time maintenance worker and are actively recruiting a Maintenance Manager.
We are receiving an adequate amount of PPE supplies both from Corporate and Fraser Health Authority.
