To all Family Members:
We have successfully completed our first week of in-person visits and the feedback has been very positive on the safe and relaxing environment for the families and residents. Some families have found the window visit to be a more positive experience with their loved one because they can get closer to their loved one to see each other more clearly, and hear a bit better if the resident has some hearing impairments.
All In-Person, Facetime, and Window visits will be booked BY APPOINTMENT ONLY through our new email address: firstname.lastname@example.org.
We will continue to take the feedback we receive and make our process as safe and impactful for all families and residents. Thank you for your continued patience and understanding as we follow the guidelines of Dr. Bonnie Henry.
Please be patient as it may be 24-48 hours before you receive a response. We are doing our best to accommodate all the residents and visitors. At this time we are only able to book one in-person visit every 4-6 weeks, and a window visit weekly for each resident. As a reminder, if you are coming for an In-Person visit you must bring a disposable face mask and must arrive 15 minutes prior to the visit to complete the pre-screening process to ensure the safety of all our residents.
In the meantime, please know that close monitoring of all residents and staff continues. All staff and designated visitors are screened as they enter the building. All staff continue to wear masks and goggles while they are on resident units.
We continue to accept clothing, food, and other essential items. We are NOT accepting flowers at this time.
Please note if you do bring items for a loved one, ENSURE IT IS LABELLED WITH THE RESIDENT NAME, ROOM NUMBER AND DATE it was prepared, in a single use container that can be discarded afterward. Unfortunately, food items that are not packaged in a single use container and not labelled appropriately, will not be provided to the resident and discarded. It is preferred that any food items brought in have a longer shelf life and do not require refrigeration and is non-perishable. If you have any questions about what can be dropped off, please reach out to, Community Relations Manager at email@example.com or 604-351-2200.
As B.C. works to continue “flattening the curve ,” we will continue to update the guidelines to ensure the health and safety of residents, staff, and visitors. Thank you for your support and understanding as we continue to provide your loved one with safe quality care.
If you have questions related to a specific resident, please address those matters to: DUFF.firstname.lastname@example.org. As you might expect, staff are extremely busy but we will respond as quickly as possible.
