To all Family Members:

We are pleased to announce that we will have a visitor plan that follows the Fraser Health Authority guidelines very soon – and will communicate with families as soon as details have been finalized.

We know all the families and friends are anxiously awaiting visitations at Dufferin Care Centre. Attached is an instruction manual on how to book a visit for your loved one, and what to expect. Please be patient as we work on ensuring safe visits for our residents and their family and friends.

All in person, Facetime, and Window visits will now be booked BY APPOINTMENT ONLY through our new email address: dcc-familyvisits@retirementconcepts.com 

We continue to accept clothing, food, and other essential items. Please note if you do bring items for a loved one, to PLEASE ENSURE IT IS LABELLED WITH THE RESIDENT NAME, ROOM NUMBER AND DATE. We are also now allowing food items that are prepared at home. Food items that are prepared at home must be packaged in a single use food container that can be discarded, labelled with the name, date/time it was prepared, Food items that are prepared at home which are NOT being packaged in a single use food container that can be discarded, and not labelled with date, time and name will be discarded and not given to the resident. It is preferred that any food items brought in have a longer shelf life and do not require refrigeration and is non-perishable. Status Update

Close monitoring of all residents and staff continues. All staff are screened as they enter the building. All staff continue to wear masks and goggles while they are on resident units.

Communication

If you have questions related to a specific resident, please address those matters to: DUFF.info@retirementconcepts.com. As you might expect, staff are extremely busy but we will respond as quickly as possible.

Lockdown at Dufferin Care Centre

The community remains on mandatory lockdown as per the Order of the Medical Health Officer.

Staffing

Our staffing shortage remains in Recreation and we are actively recruiting for Activity Aides. We have hired a casual part time maintenance worker and are actively recruiting a Maintenance Manager.

Supplies

We are receiving an adequate amount of PPE supplies both from Corporate and Fraser Health Authority.
