Star of the Month – Shannon Hutchinson–Housekeeping Lead

S – service, T – teamwork, A – attitude, R – respect

Shannon is our housekeeping lead and works tirelessly supporting the entire housekeeping and laundry team. She fills in wherever necessary and always does it with a smile. Thank you Shannon from all the staff and tenants.

Honourable mentions this month go to Kirsten at Reception in CVSV, Kelly in Care, Nicole in Nursing and Myrna and Bettie in housekeeping.

If you would like to nominate a STAR, nomination forms are available at both reception desks.

Vaccination Update

We are happy to report that 99% of the tenants in Casa Loma and Comox Valley Seniors Villages have now received their first dose of the Moderna vaccine. There were happy smiles today for those independent tenants who were part of the clinic this morning. We will be informed in May as to the date for the second dose clinic, and will let you know.

All Orders from Public Health are still in place with respect to visiting policies and screening practises for staff and visitors. We will certainly keep you informed of any changes announced.

Face Masks Optional for Tenants in Common Areas

Here is a copy of the memo that was delivered today to all our tenants.

Wearing of face masks in common areas by tenants is an option and no longer a requirement. Please continue to wear a face mask when visiting with family members whether it is in your suite or outside in the community. (Staff and visitors will continue to wear their face masks at all times)

We would also like to remind everyone of the 6 feet physical distancing requirements that are still in place.

Thank you to all our amazing tenants and staff and to you, the families, for your continued patience during this crazy covid year.

Sincerely,

The Team at Comox Valley Seniors Village and Casa Loma
