Thursday January 14 Update – Comox Valley and Casa Loma Seniors Village

Pizza Party at Casa Loma

The tenants of Casa Loma enjoyed a pizza and beer dinner last night with music and games. Everyone was physically distanced but had a great time socially!

Vaccination Update

Vancouver Island Health Authority has scheduled two vaccine clinics for the assisted living tenants at Casa Loma and Comox Valley Seniors Village. They will be setting up the clinic in the theaters of both buildings and providing RN’s to deliver the vaccines. All tenants who receive home support services are deemed assisted living tenants.

CVSV – Saturday January 23 – 9:00am to 1:00pm

Casa Loma – Saturday January 23 – 2:00pm to 4:00pm

Tina Doherty and Miranda Sorensen will be working on a schedule for the tenants and will be communicating the time for their shot to the tenants. There will be extra staff on hand to ensure the clinics run smoothly.

The Casa Loma and Comox Valley Seniors Village staff members have been receiving their covid vaccines over the past couple of weeks. The most common side effect seems to be a heavy sore arm, but not much else, which is great news.

Please email msorensen@retirementconcepts.com to set up an indoor social visit, as the designated visitor. We will do our best to accommodate a weekly indoor visit.

There continues to be no signs or symptoms of COVID-19 in any of our residents/tenants or staff at Casa Loma and Comox Valley Seniors Village and for that we are very grateful. Should the status of our community change in any respect, please know that we will immediately contact families.

A big thank you to everyone for working so hard to keep Casa Loma and Comox Valley Seniors Village safe and healthy, as well as for the kindness, understanding and support there has been.

Sincerely,

The Team at Comox Valley Seniors Village and Casa Loma
