Hello Auburn and Waverly Families and friends! We are feeling very fortunate to have another week without concern of COVID-19 in our buildings!

We had a wonderful week and a whole lot of fun with our Puttin’ on the Ritz theme.  We had non-alcoholic champagne, shrimp cocktail, cakes and chocolate covered strawberries while listening to some upbeat music!  It was so nice to see so many dress up and put on the “bling”!

We, luckily, have no news to report from the last update.  We are all working hard and diligently with the help and cooperation of families and friends.

There are a couple of things that we would like to suggest that have been unclear recently. And, please keep in mind that this may change from Independent living, Assisted Living and Residential Care.   With the dining rooms being closed many people have been feeling lonely eating in their rooms.  Here at the Auburn, residence are able to meet up with a fellow resident, or two in the Media room to share dinner and some chit chat, with all safety standards and distancing in place.  With the signs and markings in each room social distancing is not a problem and allows everyone to still have a social life!  We are still restricting outside visitors for the time being and we do thank you for your understanding with this.

Our recreation coordinator brought to our attention a product called a “Pocket Talker”.  It assists seniors or those who are hard of hearing in their conversations whether on the phone, Skype, etc.  They are on sale at Shopper’s Drug Mart if anyone should want to pick one up to assist their loved one!

On June 20th, 2020 we are going to have a fun visit from the Chilliwack Vintage Car Club!  They will be rolling into our parking lot at 2pm Saturday and we will have markers set up to keep the 6ft distance between everyone.  Refreshments and snacks will be served and hopefully everyone will have a fantastic time!  It is a weather permitting event, but so far it looks good!

Thank you for all of you who are giving us such positive feedback and support.  Your gestures and comments are very much appreciated!
