Hi Everyone:

We hope that everyone is continuing to stay safe and healthy!

Peace Portal Seniors Village continues to provide improvements and updates to our processes.

We encourage families to stay in touch and reach out to schedule visits through our Recreation Manager.

We continue to have no cases at Peace Portal Seniors Village.

A reminder to all families of the continued efforts of our team to prevent the virus from entering our community. Our Director of Care and GM are hosting regular mini-town halls with all team members to ensure strict adherence to protocols for resident and team safety.

Should the status of the facility change in any respect, please know that we will immediately contact families via phone and email.

We’re noticing a rise in cases across the Country. If you have children currently attending school outside of the home, please be aware of their exposure to any cases at school and practice masking, physical distancing, and hand hygiene at all times.

We have hired 3 new active screening team members that will be working 7 days a week throughout the day to ensure that team members, visitors, and vendors are thoroughly screened. They will also be assisting with visitations and starting October, we are proud to announce that visitations will be held on Weekends and Evenings in addition to what we are currently providing.

Google Reviews

As we are now welcoming move in’s, we are working on ways to share our Community with everyone! Google reviews really make a difference when people are searching for a place for their loved one. If you are happy with us, please leave us a positive review on google. If you aren’t, please contact us and let us know how we can improve!

Referrals welcome!

We are actively seeking new prospective residents to be a part of our community at Peace Portal Seniors Village and would love any referrals from families.  If you know someone looking for a long term stay, Private Pay Suite, we are offering a $500 referral bonus for move ins! Please contact Sandra D’Souza (Community Relations Manager) at sdsouza@retirementconcepts.com for full details on the program.

 Recreation Program

Recreation is back in full swing for this month!  In September, we hosted an entertainer and a BBQ for residents and team members. We continue to provide exciting new programs for our residents with 4-5 programs per day! Due to space restrictions and keeping physical distancing top of mind, we are still limiting participation to 5 residents.

New Support Services Manager

We are very excited to announce a new Support Services Manager at Peace Portal Seniors Village! Ekamdeep Kaur joins us with a wealth of knowledge and experience. Ekamdeep was previously a registered dietician and is in school at Langara College under the Food Services and Nutrition Management Program. She was previously working as a supervisor for Sodexo Foods at St. Paul’s Hospital overseeing their food program for acute care and more. She will be overseen by the Dietitian Jasmine Sookero and Denise Ewert (CSNM Certified General Manager at White Rock Seniors Village). If you have any questions, please reach out to Sanaah at sdodhia@retirementconcepts.com.

Ekamdeep is starting part time work with us 4 days a week as of September 19, 2020. She is available at ekaur@retirementconcepts.com. She will be starting with training and reviewing and improving current processes and culinary experiences for residents.

Reminders for your loved one to Stay Safe:

Again, the following four points are so critical to discuss with your loved ones, friends, and co-workers. Please help reduce our public cases by:

  1. Practice physical distancing (6 feet apart)
  2. Perform proper Hand Hygiene (Wash hands frequently for 20 seconds with the alcohol-based sanitizer or soap and water) 20 second or greater is so important.
  3. Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth
  4. If exhibiting any symptoms (fever, cough and difficulty breathing) stay home. If your loved one residing with us tells you they feel unwell, please alert staff immediately.

Our residents rely on the public’s support and safety to ensure that they can continue receiving the best quality of life possible.

Thank You

We want to thank everyone for their cooperation and patience.

Sincerely,

The PPSV team!
