To all Family Members:
Staff at Dufferin Care Center want to thank all families for their ongoing kindness, support and understanding for the past 57 days of our outbreak. Please know we are doing our utmost to keep your loved one safe, engaged and stimulated to the extent possible under these circumstances.
Status Update
At this time, the health status of residents and staff is unchanged. There are presently NO COVID-positive residents, while one affected staff member remains home in self-isolation.
We continue to monitor residents closely and all staff continue to be screened as they enter the building. They also remain cohorted to their respective floors and are wearing masks and goggles while on resident units.
Communication
Communication with all families continues via e-mail. Phone calls to family members will occur only if any residents are placed on precautions. Please refer to our daily updates on the Retirement Concepts Website.
If you have questions related to a specific resident, please address those matters to: info@retirementconcepts.com, and we will respond as quickly as possible.
Lockdown at Dufferin Care Centre
The community remains on mandatory lockdown as per the Order of the Medical Health Officer.
We are following Dr. Bonnie Henry’s order to stop sharing staff between facilities.
Staffing
We continue to be short in our Recreation department. However, all other Departments are at full staff.
Supplies
We are receiving an adequate amount of PPE supplies both from Corporate and Fraser Health Authority.
Teamwork
As Nurses Week comes to an end at Dufferin Care Center, that doesn’t mean our appreciation comes to an end. We want to say “THANK YOU” to our entire DUFFERIN TEAM for everything being done for our residents!!
