To all Family Members:
As we enter the Victoria Day long weekend, we hope you will take the time to relax and enjoy the company of your immediate family.
We know being separated from your loved one who resides at Dufferin is challenging but we thank you for your ongoing patience and cooperation. To that end, as noted yesterday, we are responding as quickly as possible to FACETIME requests, but we simply don’t have the ability to provide weekly appointments as originally planned because of the overwhelming response. At this time, we are working to accommodate one request per family, preferably from the primary contact.
At this time, the health status of residents and staff is unchanged. There are presently NO COVID-positive residents, while one affected staff member remains home in self-isolation.
We continue to monitor residents closely and all staff continue to be screened as they enter the building. They also remain cohorted to their respective floors and are wearing masks and goggles while on resident units.
Communication with all families continues via e-mail. Phone calls to family members will occur only if any residents are placed on precautions. Please refer to our daily updates on the Retirement Concepts Website.
If you have questions related to a specific resident, please address those matters to: firstname.lastname@example.org, and we will respond as quickly as possible.
Lockdown at Dufferin Care Centre
The community remains on mandatory lockdown as per the Order of the Medical Health Officer.
We are following Dr. Bonnie Henry’s order to stop sharing staff between facilities.
We continue to be short in our Recreation department. However, all other Departments are at full staff.
We are receiving an adequate amount of PPE supplies both from Corporate and Fraser Health Authority.
As Nurses Week comes to an end at Dufferin Care Center, that doesn’t mean our appreciation comes to an end. We want to say “THANK YOU” to our entire DUFFERIN TEAM for everything being done for our residents!!
