To all Family Members:
You remain in our thoughts as we continue to manage through a difficult situation. And while we wouldn’t presume to understand how difficult it is for you not to have personal contact with your loved one, we thank you for your patience and support during this challenging period.
The number of affected residents and staff members has not changed.
Four residents remain in isolation on the first floor where they continue to be monitored closely, while four affected staff members continue to be home, in self-isolation.
We continue to monitor residents, and should any be symptomatic, they are swabbed, and placed in isolation as a precaution until lab results are known. We continue to screen our staff at the beginning and midway through their shifts.
Dining rooms continue to be closed and residents are being served meals in their respective pods/neighbourhoods..
Communication with all families continues via e-mail. Daily phone calls to family members of the impacted residents will continue. Please refer to our daily updates on the Retirement Concepts Website.
If you have questions related to a specific resident, please address those matters to: email@example.com. As you might expect, staff are extremely busy, but we will respond as quickly as possible.
Lockdown at Dufferin Care Centre
The community remains on mandatory lockdown as per the Order of the Medical Health Officer.
We are following Dr. Bonnie Henry’s order to stop sharing staff between facilities.
Our staffing has not changed in the past few days, as we continue to be short staff in our Dietary and Recreation departments. We continue to receive our prepared food from Lazy Gourmet catering company.
We continue to monitor our supplies closely. We have received emergency supplies through our Corporate Procurement as well as Fraser Health.
While our staff show great dedication and commitment to the residents and each other, we extend our sincere “THANK YOU” to FHA for deploying staff to our home as we have required. We continue to screen our staff to ensure that all are healthy and well prior to working in the resident areas.
