To all Family Members:
We are pleased to report that three affected residents are now asymptomatic, meaning Fraser Health has cleared them to be removed from isolation – and they now reside in a cohorted area (B Wing). As a result, the number of affected residents who remain in isolation, now totals four.
We continue to closely monitor residents, and should anyone be symptomatic, they are swabbed, placed in isolation as a precaution until lab results are known, and families are informed.
The number of affected staff members in unchanged, at four, and each remains home in self-isolation. Please know that any staff member who is symptomatic is asked to place themselves in self-isolation as a matter of course.
Communication
Communication with all families continues via e-mail. Daily phone calls to family members of the impacted residents will continue. Please refer to our daily updates on the Retirement Concepts Website.
If you have questions related to a specific resident, please address those matters to: info@retirementconcepts.com. As you might expect, staff are extremely busy, but we will respond as quickly as possible.
Lockdown at Dufferin Care Centre
The community remains on mandatory lockdown as per the Order of the Medical Health Officer.
We are following Dr. Bonnie Henry’s order to stop sharing staff between facilities.
Staffing
Our staffing has not changed in the past few days. We continue to be short in our Dietary and recreation departments. We continue to receive prepared food from the Lazy Gourmet catering company.
Supplies
We continue to monitor our supplies closely. We have received emergency supplies through our Corporate Procurement as well as Fraser Health.
Teamwork
While our staff show great dedication and commitment to the residents and each other, we extend a sincere “THANK YOU” to FHA for deploying staff to our home as we have required.
