Hi Everyone:

We hope you are all staying safe and healthy!

NO RESIDENTS or STAFF are presenting COVID-19 signs or symptoms at Rosemary Heights Seniors Village. Should the status of Rosemary Heights Seniors Village change in any respect, please know that we will immediately contact families.

Spring is in full swing and we are moving into May when the weather is warmer and the flowers are starting to bloom. This has us all wanting to get outside and spend some time with our loved ones. As time goes on, we realize it is becoming harder to be away from those you love, and we are looking at some ways that hopefully in the near future, will afford us the ability to get there.

That being said, at this time the medical health officer’s directive remains unchanged, and she is asking all people to stay home. It has come to our attention that on the AL/IL side of the building, people are attempting to visit their loved ones over the fence, or having them walk around the building to meet them on the sidewalk. We would like to ask again that all families and friends stay home unless there is a need for an essential visit. Essential means that it is required for immediate health and safety such as medical appointments, dental appointments, specialist appointments, etc.  In order to ensure we remain COVID negative, we need everyone’s cooperation in ensuring that any traffic to the site is limited to the criteria listed above. For the Long Term Care side of the building, there is to be no guests other than essential services or palliative visits. Even for the palliative visits, all family will be carefully screened at the door, and personal protective equipment will be provided to you prior to entering into the Community.

We have been celebrating our team members every week, the real hero’s here at Rosemary Heights.

Some days with pizza, some days with Ice cream, and an extra special delivery this past week when family members dropped off cake & donuts (along with Thank you cards) for each floor & department, as they have really gone the extra mile for the site and the residents. I am very humbled and my heart is warmed as I see their caring smiles, gentle words of encouragement, celebratory moments and by their dedication and commitment to all and in every department. It is very nice to be a part of a team that puts the needs of those they are supporting above their own. They have worked tirelessly to ensure your loved ones are safe, well cared for and happy. I know that you will all join me in extending thanks to this amazing group of people, and we are all very lucky to have them.

A sincere thank you to the hero’s behind the scenes here at RHSV; cooks, housekeeping & laundry team, maintenance department, payroll & finance and the front desk receptionist for their excellent service and care.

The building grounds will be pressure washed this coming Monday & Tuesday, and we will start placing out the patio furniture for the residents (sorry no families permitted at this time) to get out & enjoy fresh air, planting of flowers & hanging baskets to welcome sunny days.

Deliveries and Drop-offs:

With Mother’s Day approaching next week (Sunday May 10), we wanted to you all to know any Mother’s Day gifts/deliveries will need to take place on the Saturday beforehand up to 3pm (Saturday May 9, 2020).  We will not be able to do any deliveries on Sundays.

All deliveries will be received at the front entrance. This includes groceries, medications, gifts. All will be sanitized and delivered directly to the resident’s suites.

Just a reminder dropping off items; Monday-Friday 10am-2pm, and Saturday 1-3pm only, closed to all Sunday deliveries:

  1. Please use plastic bags, no reusable bags.
  2. Make sure to label all bags with resident name and room number.
  3. Try to limit drop offs to essential items – as we are inundated with drop-offs.
  4. Please sanitize, if possible, the items before dropping off. We will re-sanitize as well to be safe.

Reminders for your loved one to Stay Safe:

Again, the following four points are so critical to discuss with your loved ones. Please help us by reminding each resident daily of the following four items:

  1. Practice social distancing (6 feet apart)
  2. Perform proper Hand Hygiene (Wash hands frequently for 20 seconds with the alcohol-based sanitizer or soap and hot water) 20 second or greater is so important.
  3. Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth
  4. If exhibiting any symptoms (fever, cough and difficulty breathing) please alert staff immediately.

Thank You

We can’t wait until the day we can say yes to all of our resident’s requests to have visitors, hairdressers, entertainers, dinner guests and resume life as it was pre pandemic.

The Rosemary Heights team thanks all of you for your support of our community during this Pandemic.

Our dedicated team of employees care so deeply about the well being, safety and security of our residents here, who all have become a part of the Rosemary Heights extended family.

We are looking forward to seeing you all again soon.
