We would like to thank everyone for their efforts to follow the public health guidelines.

While there is discussion about some restrictions easing, at this time there has been no announcement about easing restrictions for visiting Long Term Care Homes.

At Beacon Hill Villa, we are grateful for the sacrifice that everyone has made to ensure the safety of the Residents here.

Starting late last week, we have had a surge in demand for facilitating virtual visits with video chat. We would like to thank everyone for their patience and understanding as we do our best to accommodate your requests.

Thank you for putting your trust in us and thank you for staying safe and keeping us all safe.

Tuesday, May 12, 2020– Beacon Hill Villa – Update

While we are happy to report again that no residents presenting COVID-19 signs or symptoms, we are continuing to impose strict visitor restrictions as required by the Provincial Public Health Officer. We know this continues to be an anxious period for residents, families and loved-ones – but we ask that everyone be respectful of this measure, for resident and staff safety.

We continue to follow the direction of public health officials and other clinical experts regarding the best infection prevention and control measures to take to avoid transmission of the virus that causes COVID-19.

Should the status of this community change in any respect, please know that we will share this information.

Updates on Admissions and Transfers:

Admissions will be resumed following strict Ministry of Health guidelines and safety precautions (new admissions and residents returning from hospital will have isolation precautions with staff wearing PPE)

Any resident that shows symptoms will be tested for Covid without delay and put on isolation precautions. If the resident is positive, they will be assessed for transfer to a dedicated Covid unit for specialized treatment and to reduce risk of outbreak in the LTC home.

Protocols

We are continuing to follow the direction of our public health officials and have infection prevention and control precautions in place. Staff continue to monitor residents closely and are ensuring the following protocols are being implemented:
