Weekly Update for Summerland Seniors Village, Friday, September 18-2020
Greetings Friends & Families,
There are a few new faces that have joined our Leadership team here at Summerland Seniors Village. Deb Saunders joins the team as the Community Relations Manager and Faith Kiiru as the AL Clinical Care Lead. We are excited to have them join our community!
The smoke this past week sure did throw a wrench into things here at SSV. Our 1st annual Extravaganza had to be postponed to a future smoke free date and all our face to face visits had to happen inside. We have tentatively re-scheduled the talent show to Friday October 2, 2020. Hopefully the weather will cooperate!
Not much has changed on the COVID front here at Summerland Seniors Village despite the increasing number of cases in the Province. Just a reminder that the face to face visits as a rule are being held inside the facility UNLESS you email me at jberrisford@retirementconcepts.com requesting yours to be outside. Please give me a days’ notice to any changes to visits. Visitors are asked to come to the front entrance of the facility for screening, regardless of an indoor or outdoor visit. Please note our window visits will remain outside (for visitors) for the time being. Just a reminder to come no more than 5 minutes ahead of schedule for you visit, and that visits are 30 minutes long.
Please continue to be vigilant when it comes to social habits by adhering to the precautions necessary to mitigate the spread of Covid-19: practice social distancing, keep your social bubbles to a minimum, and wear a mask when deemed necessary.
Please remember to send an email if you are interested in scheduling a visit and be sure to provide the following details:
Once your scheduled visit has been confirmed, you will be contacted via email with the date and time of your visit.
WHEN YOU ARRIVE FOR YOUR VISIT
We ask you to keep in mind that through all of this, we are following the direction of the M.O.H. and appreciate your patience and support as we navigate through uncharted waters together in an effort to offer the best assistance possible in bringing you closer together with your loved ones during these trying times.
RECREATION
Our Recreation Team is doing the best they can to accommodate the in person visits while managing to keep daily activities rolling as well. Your cooperation, understanding and patience for the associated circumstances is appreciated.
General Store
The General Store remains open with distancing restrictions (1 person at a time) and a good selection of treats and necessities.
Meals
Communal dining is back with our usual 2 sittings. It’s so nice to be able to get back to some level of normalcy.
Deliveries
All deliveries must come through the front entrance only and abide by guidelines set out in our previous communications. Once again, we remind folks not to leave deliveries on the carts provided after 4:30 PM.
Communication
As always, feel free to access the website for community updates on COVID related issues but most of all, let’s enjoy some weather while it lasts.
Warm Wishes
Summerland Seniors Village Team
