COVID-19 Community Update from Beacon Hill Villa, October 8, 2020

Dear Dedicated BHV Families and Friends,

Some things look a bit different this Thanksgiving but do not fret, Thanksgiving dinner will be a familiar classic here at BHV! The kitchen has been hard at work to prepare a delicious dinner. We will be having a traditional roast turkey dinner with all the trimmings; a perfectly roasted turkey with white & dark meat, tarty cranberry sauce, velvety mashed potatoes, buttery peas and pearl onions, finishing off with a slice of homemade pumpkin pie!

Family visits will continue on the holiday Monday. The recreation team looks forward to welcoming families during this important holiday. We would like to take a moment to thank all our families & friends of BHV for being so supportive in this challenging time in history. We truly appreciate the collaboration with families as policies and procedures change as more knowledge of this virus develops. Together we work to provide quality of life in these uncertain times, making the most of what we can together. The entire Beacon Hill Villa Team is eternally grateful for all the support and gratitude the families have been during this unprecedented time in history. We look forward to continue to support one another through the upcoming winter months. Together we will get through this difficult time, providing happiness and joy to the residents of BHV.

We are offering scheduled alternating week visits at a time & date that works for you (once every two weeks)   OR   weekly visits which fit into our pre-set schedule calling out free spots about 3 days prior to availability. Recreation has gotten in contact with most of the designated visitors, please email kkeszthelyi@retirementconcepts.com or call 250-419-6826 if you have not been contacted.

As things will look a bit different, here is a summary of what to expect when you visit:

• There will be designated parking: ambulance parking is in front
• Please arrive no earlier than 5 minutes before your scheduled appointment
• Staff will greet you outside the front door
• Come down to rec/kitchen stairs, and be screened before you enter
• Visits will be in the recreation area. Outdoor patio visits are encouraged. There is an indoor space if required.
• Sanitize hands and wear a surgical grade masks. Required personal protective equipment will be provided by BHV.
• Visits will be approx. 40 minutes in duration.

In order to maximize our time so all families can benefit from booking a visit quickly:

• Virtual visits will still be offered. However, we are sure they will decrease.
• In person visits will take the place of fence visits.
• We have a 48-hour cancellation policy, and can easily reschedule you.
