COVID-19 Community Update from Beacon Hill Villa, May 24-2021

Greetings to all friends and family of Beacon Hill Villa! We hope your week was full of sunshine.

We celebrated National Nursing Week! We wanted to give a huge thank you to all of the nurses that have truly contributed to making Beacon Hill Villa the best that it is. We cannot thank you all enough for all of the hard work and dedication that has been put forward, especially throughout this past year. No doubt it has been an extremely challenging time given the pandemic, and it is a privilege to give care to those that are at their most vulnerable.

So, in celebration of National Nursing Week, we had a little get together in the back patio. The sun was shining and the spring flowers were in bloom. Staff and residents alike were served sweet treats and beverages.

UPDATE on how visit scheduling will be handled from now on.

All requests for a visit between visitors and residents will be booked by the HCSW (Health Care Support Worker) team. Visitors will contact the HCSW team either by phone or email, and will need to provide two choices of days for visiting times in the event that one day becomes unsuitable for either parties. Voicemails and emails will be responded to within 24 hours.

As things will look a bit different, here is a summary of what to expect when you visit:

• There will be designated parking: ambulance parking is in front
• Please arrive no earlier than 5 minutes before your scheduled appointment
• Come down to rec/kitchen stairs, and be screened before you enter
• Visits will be in the recreation area. Outdoor patio visits are encouraged. There is an indoor space if required.
• Sanitize hands and wear a surgical grade masks. Required personal protective equipment will be provided by BHV.
• Visits will be approx. 40 minutes in duration.

In order to maximize our time so all families can benefit from booking a visit quickly:

• Virtual visits will still be offered. However, we are sure they will decrease.
• In person visits will take the place of fence visits.
• We have a 48-hour cancellation policy, and can easily reschedule you.
