COVID-19 Community Update from Beacon Hill Villa, May 8-2021

Dear Dedicated Friends and Family of Beacon Hill Villa,

As mentioned last week, residents will be receiving their second doses of the vaccine as of May 6^th. It has been a long time coming and we are so grateful that the residents of BHV will be able to get their vaccines before summertime. Things are gradually looking to be a bit more on the bright side, and we are also excited to celebrate Mother’s Day this upcoming Sunday. A Mother’s Day themed tea party will be held, snacks included.

We also wanted to give an update on how visit scheduling will be handled from now on.

All requests for a visit between visitors and residents will be booked by the HCSW (Health Care Support Worker) team. Visitors will contact the HCSW team either by phone or email, and will need to provide two choices of days for visiting times in the event that one day becomes unsuitable for either parties. Voicemails and emails will be responded to within 24 hours.

As things will look a bit different, here is a summary of what to expect when you visit:

• There will be designated parking: ambulance parking is in front
• Please arrive no earlier than 5 minutes before your scheduled appointment
• Come down to rec/kitchen stairs, and be screened before you enter
• Visits will be in the recreation area. Outdoor patio visits are encouraged. There is an indoor space if required.
• Sanitize hands and wear a surgical grade masks. Required personal protective equipment will be provided by BHV.
• Visits will be approx. 40 minutes in duration.

In order to maximize our time so all families can benefit from booking a visit quickly:

• Virtual visits will still be offered. However, we are sure they will decrease.
• In person visits will take the place of fence visits.
• We have a 48-hour cancellation policy, and can easily reschedule you.
