COVID-19 Community Update from Beacon Hill Villa, February 12-2021
Dear Dedicated Friends and Family of Beacon Hill Villa,
We hope you are all keeping warm as the winter season gets colder!
Valentines’ Day is quickly approaching, so in preparation, the residents created Valentines’ Day themed Tic-Tac-Toe crafts, as well as indulging in a sweet ice cream treat for Sundae Sunday’s, which is a weekly travelling cart that serves sweet ice cream treats alongside colourful frosting and sprinkles. News & Views was another program that started this week, where residents listen to and ask questions about recent news stories, both local and worldwide. They were extremely excited to hear that the 2021 Olympics set in Tokyo Japan will be moving forward, starting in July of this year with Covid-19 precautions in place. We have also started a weekly history lesson activity that includes interesting facts and events to keep residents engaged.
Bowling was also a game that we have reintroduced with success. Staff and residents alike can’t wait to play it again.
That’s all for this week everyone! Take care.

Our Family Council is a supportive and dedicated form for families and friends of residents in long-term care. We bring together families and facility staff to exchange timely and valuable information pertaining to the well-being of our loved ones. We also provide support, education and a venue for discussing collective concerns.
Our Family Council which normally meets monthly is assisted by Advocates for Care Reform (ACR). This provincial organization helps establish and support all Family Councils within British Columbia and is dedicated to improving the quality of care and the quality of life for all residents living in long-term care.
As President of BHV Family Council I invite you to email me with any questions, concerns and/or positive feedback you may have. Your concerns will remain confidential unless otherwise advised. I can be reached at
