Stanford Seniors Village Community Update January 14th, 2020
To Our Extended Family,
There continues to be no signs or symptoms of COVID-19 in any of our residents/tenants or staff here at Stanford Seniors Village, and for that we are very grateful. Should the status of our Community change in any respect, please know that we will immediately contact families.
Vaccines: Please note that there has been changes to dates of vaccination clinics.
Island Health has started its COVID-19 vaccination program for priority populations. Staff at Stanford Seniors Village have received information about the vaccine and can now schedule their appointment to receive the vaccination. Residents in long term care and Assisted Living tenants will be offered the Moderna vaccine provided by the Island Health team. If you are interested in learning more about the Moderna vaccine please visit BCCDC.com for more information.
The island Health immunizer teams will now be coming to the community between January 18th and January 27th. Vaccinations for all consenting residents and tenants will be completed during this time.
As Stanford Seniors Village is a mixed building of both Assisted Living and Independent Living, Island Health has clarified that this round of vaccinations are for Assisted Living tenants only Independent Living tenants will receive the vaccination at a later time. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this challenging time as we navigate with the public health nurses to ensure all out residents and tenants are vaccinated.

Arts and crafts, active games, brain games, table games and music programs are just some of the programs that we are enjoying. Please remind and motivate your loved ones to participate in these smaller group activities.
Mask use by tenants in common areas:
We have kindly asked our tenants living in Independent Living and Assited Living to wear a mask in areas of the community that are shared and where they are unable to maintain a 6 feet distance. If a tenant doesn’t have a mask they are able to pick up a mask daily at the sign out book on the 1st floor.

All deliveries will be received at the front desk between 7:00am – 5:00pm. This includes groceries, medications, and gifts. All items will be sanitized and delivered directly to the resident’s suites.
We would ask that families please follow these guidelines to ensure your parent or loved one to get their deliveries in a timely manner:
Reminders for your loved one to Stay Safe
Again, the following four points are so critical to discuss with your loved ones. Please help us by reminding each resident daily of the following four items:
A big thank you to everyone for working so hard to keep Stanford safe and healthy, as well as for the kindness, understanding and support that has been shown.
A little joke to help brighten the day!
What do you call it when it rains chickens and ducks?
Foul (fowl) weather!
With Love,
The Stanford Seniors Village Team
