COVID-19 Community Update from Beacon Hill Villa, December 10, 2020

Dear dedicated Friends and Family of BHV,

As per last week, holiday themed activities have continued onward! Residents got the chance to decorate their own walkers and wheelchairs with festive themed stickers and decorations. Other activities residents participated in were bingo, trivia, men’s and women’s social groups, crossword puzzles, audiobooks, and music therapy.

We know the emotional toll the recent renewal of COVID-19 restrictions will have on families, especially during the holiday season, which we have always spent with our loved ones, but we need to remember to stay as safe as possible. Unfortunately, this is the reality we are living in, and our hearts go out to everyone affected. We have to strive to make due with our current situation. So with that being said, family meetings will be continuing with precautions in place as usual. If you would like to book an in person appointment for either before, during, or after Christmas, those options will be available. If you are not able to see your loved one in person for the holidays, a virtual visit may be the way to go!

Thank you to everyone for your patience and continued support during this time.

To book an in person or virtual visit, please contact tdunn@retirementconcepts.com or 250-383-5447 ext. 221

Recreation questions and concerns can be directed to the recreation team at bhv-recreation@retirementconcepts.com or 250-419-6826

Stay safe everyone.

Our Family Council is a supportive and dedicated form for families and friends of residents in long-term care.  We bring together families and facility staff to exchange timely and valuable information pertaining to the well-being of our loved ones.  We also provide support, education and a venue for discussing collective concerns.

Our Family Council which normally meets monthly is assisted by Advocates for Care Reform (ACR).  This provincial organization helps establish and support all Family Councils within British Columbia and is dedicated to improving the quality of care and the quality of life for all residents living in long-term care.

As President of BHV Family Council I invite you to email me with any questions, concerns and/or positive feedback you may have.  Your concerns will remain confidential unless otherwise advised.  I can be reached at
