Happy November Everyone! The snow has returned once again making it feel more like the holidays!

Please read the entire communication so you are familiar with the current medical health orders & reminders, and please share with your families!

Please visit the BC CDC Website for current restrictions for Care Homes in the province.

We have some good news to share!

The Office of the Provincial Health Officer has also informed us of a change to the COVID-19 guidance – the restriction on visitors participating in large indoor gatherings in long-term care (LTC) and Independent & Assisted living (IL/AL) is being lifted.

Visitors can now attend gatherings and activities of any size (unless otherwise advised by a Medical Health Officer, such as during an outbreak). For example, it can apply to seasonal events planned for December, church services and more.

However, masks must be worn at all times by visitors in the indoor common areas with NO FOOD OR DRINK CONSUMPTION PERMITTED. We encourage you to continue to visit in their resident room or suite for socializing since masks can be removed in the resident and tenant’s personal suite.

The requirements for visitors to provide proof of vaccination (unless under 12 years of age or the visitor has a medical exemption) and to be rapid tested (in LTC, unless under 12) remains unchanged.

These requirements apply to visitors attending indoor gatherings and activities, as well.

A reminder to all visitors to always have your proof of vaccine with you. New visitors can get signed into the screening kiosk with the help of our screeners. The greeters have been directed to ask for proof of vaccine if they have never met the visitor before. Please be understanding and kind if you are asked; they are trying to keep everyone healthy.

We are happy to be able to welcome families back into more activities and spaces at Kamloops Seniors Village. If you have any questions about the parameters, please feel free to reach out.

Sincerely,

The KSV Team
