Welcome to the Weekly Waverly Update!

   April 26th – 30th

General Managers Message:

Hi Everyone

We hope you are doing well and keeping safe. COVID new cases yesterday were 799 for a total of 8,089 active cases (https://experience.arcgis.com/experience/a6f23959a8b14bfa989e3cda29297ded).  There are a number of variant strains and as always we continue to be safe.  We are welcoming visitors during the day and in the evening.  All is going well.  We are currently recruiting 2 screeners so we can open up from 10-1800 on the assisted living side-I will provide more information on this as we are successful in hiring.

Last week with all the sunshine we were able to do a lot in our gardens, some spray washing of the greening area and I have to say the facility is looking great.  I enjoyed seeing the residents out in the back patio enjoying activities in the sun and I appreciated one resident’s diligent work in sweeping the patio not deterred by her wheelchair mobility.

Getting your vaccine can be easy and we hope you refer to this site if you have not already done so.  https://www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/covid-19/vaccine/register?utm_campaign=20210412_GCPE_Vizeum_COVID___Google_Search_BCGOV_EN_BC_VaccinePage_Text

Have a great week.

Recreation

It is exciting news we have been given a grant for a Music Therapy Program.  Our Recreation Manager Jocelyn has worked tirelessly on this project to finally see it come to life.  The next steps will be educating our resident on the program so they can understand and take part!  We are always focused on providing our residents with new and exciting activities to be a part of.

Deliveries and Drop-offs:

All deliveries will continue to be received at the front desk and will be sanitized, bagged and we will call the tenants to come and pick up their items right away.  Please ensure you label all items with name and room number to ensure all packages are received as quickly as possible.

Reminders for your loved one to Stay Safe!

Please help us by reminding each resident daily of the following four items:

  1. Practice social/physical distancing (6 feet apart)
  2. Perform proper Hand Hygiene (Wash hands frequently for 20 seconds with the alcohol-based sanitizer or soap and hot water) 20 seconds or greater is so important.
  3. Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth
  4. If exhibiting any symptoms (fever, cough and difficulty breathing) please alert staff immediately.

Stay Safe, Stay Healthy, And Stay Happy !
