Dear Families of our Long term care residents.

As our Outbreak has been declared over, we are beginning to follow the step down process as laid out by Fraser Health.

Recreation: We have begun the following activities:

Yesterday we decorated the lounges on the third floor as per the guidelines allowed. Bringing a little Christmas to our home makes a world of difference

Meal service: We will start with 25% of residents eating in the dining room and will set the date for re-opening the main dining room for 3rd floor residents soon.

Traditional Christmas dinner will be beautifully served to all residents on their respective floors

We have received an incredible amount of gifts and cards from local schools, businesses and families wanting to share with our residents. Every day, we have been sending presents (once sanitized of course) and our residents are elated. In these trying times, we want you to know that your loved ones are being showered with gifts of the season from a very generous community. We all feel blessed by this outpouring of love and support and feel very fortunate to live in such a wonderful city full of wonderful thoughtful people.

Visitation:

Please understand that we are following step down protocols to ensure the safety of our residents.

We will update you as activities and dining experiences increase.

Please do not book a window or social visit if you have any symptoms or have been in contact with anyone with COVID-19.

Social visits will be in a designated area with safe protocols in place.

Booking Visits: To book your onsite social visit, facetime/skype or phone calls, please contact our Visitation coordinators at our screening desk by calling 604-541-4663 ext 215 or emailing WRSV-familyvisits@retirementconcepts.com

These communications are also posted to our website after they are sent out to you. If you have other family or friends that want to be updated, please feel free to direct them to www.retirementconcepts.com

Deliveries

All deliveries continue to be received at the screening door that is located just north of the Maple street Entrance.  . All items are sanitized and delivered directly to the resident’s suites. If you want to have a delivery for Christmas, please drop off a few days before as we anticipate the staff will be busy with serving special dinners and sharing the Christmas Spirit.

When dropping items off:  We ask families to please follow the guidelines below in order to ensure that your parent or loved one gets their deliveries in a timely manner:

  1. Please use plastic bags, no reusable bags;
  2. Make sure to label all bags with the resident’s name and room number; and
  3. Try to limit drop-offs to essential items.
  4. If sending food or drinks, please send single serve, disposable items. No homemade food or fruit. All items will need to be sanitized. Please do not send food that need to be refrigerated.

Teamwork

We wish to thank staff, residents and families for their cooperation and understanding as we move through this phase of Outbreak Step Down. On behalf of all of the Leadership Team here at White Rock Seniors Village, we want to wish all of you and your Families a Merry Christmas and collectively hope for a safe and healthy 2021.
