To all Family Members:

We are happy to announce we are still COVID FREE at Dufferin Care Centre! We want to wish all families a safe, healthy and happy Christmas Holiday. This year has been tough for us all. We are so beyond grateful we are COVID FREE, have amazing staff, and wonderful residents.

The residents will all enjoy a beautiful Turkey Dinner on Christmas Day with all the trimmings and pie for dessert! A few of our leaders will be coming in on Christmas Day this year as well to spread some Christmas Cheer, and treats for our staff. Our staff have worked hard to make it festive in the residents rooms, many bringing Christmas décor they bought to share. Thank you to all the amazing staff for the extra little touches you do!

Thank you to all the families and members of the communities who donated gifts to our residents and staff. We are all feeling very grateful.

Lastly, I have some AMAZING Christmas news for the families. We have worked very hard and have a Christmas gift to share with you. We will be receiving a heater by the end of next week for our window visits. Thank you VERY much for the hard work of our team on site and at head office for making this happen. And thank you to the families for requesting this, as it helped ensure we were able to make this a priorty! Merry Christmas to you all! And may warmer window visit days be ahead!

Please kindly remember before your visit to ensure you do the pre-screening questionnaire. If you are feeling unwell, have a temperature, have been in contact with someone who is covid positive or travelled outside of Canada in the last 14 days, to kindly reschedule your visit.

We continue to allow our scheduled visits to families 7 days a week. We offer Facetime, Window and In-Person. Please kindly send your request for an appointment to have a visit at dcc-familyvisits@retirementconcepts.com or by our new designated phone number if this is more convenient for you, the number is 604-472-4151. Please keep in mind Fran (screener) does scheduling for visits Monday-Friday 9 am-5 pm.

Please kindly note, if you are dropping off food for your loved one, according to Fraser Health’s directive it must be non-perishable ONLY (must be consumed immediately, we cannot store any non-dried goods). Please ensure the non-perishable items have the name of the resident, room number and date it was packaged.
