Guildford Seniors Village – Update 9 May 2020

We would like to wish everyone a very Happy Mother’s Day. We hope you all enjoy a wonderful day. We are looking forward to celebrating with our seniors this Sunday.

How grateful, humbled and inspired we are by the UNITY of our team & extended community:

“Unity is needed for survival…protects us from all evil doings, hence we people should help each other, and together we should fight and face … negative things;  when we together stand, only then we get freedom from all kinds of negativity”.

At Guildford Seniors Village, we create an atmosphere of working through adversity and we are grateful to each other – for service to each resident, is service to each other.

We thank residents, families, loved ones, and those who continue to deliver essential services.

We look forward to providing continued bi-weekly updates every Wednesday and Saturday. Please do let us know if there is information and questions that you may have by calling 604-582-0808 ext 125.

Protocols

We continue to follow the direction, protocols and compliance of our public health officials, with full infection prevention and control precautions in effect. We continue to monitor residents closely and adhere to:

Dining Room

Our four Neighborhood Dining Rooms have been opened to residents with service of home cooked meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as Snack Trolley room service afternoon and evenings.

Recreation

To arrange a social call, Facetime and/or Skype visit with your loved one, please contact 604-582-0808 ext 203 or email recreation-gsv@retirementconcepts.com.  With the support of our Recreation Team to the best of their ability with priority given to resident care, we will strive to connect you with comfort. Thank you for your compassion and patience, as requests may not be fulfilled on same day. Feel welcome to send a message to your loved one via email message, photos or children’s artwork to recreation-gsv@retirementconcepts.com

In anticipation of Mother’s Day we are planning a Tea & Treats Trolley visit to each resident on Saturday and Sunday, with a gift of handmade fabric corsage and cupcakes.

We would like to send a big thank you to @stevespokebar and #feedthefrontlineworkers for their incredible donation of 65 poke bowls to our team!  THANK YOU Steve, Camy & your teams.

Also the graciously hand-made Ear Saver Head bands donated by neighbor Sherrill and an employee’s daughter – what a difference you make in your kindness. You lift our spirits!
