To all Family Members:

As we move towards the middle of May, we would like to express our ongoing appreciation to families for your patience and understanding.

Status Update

Currently we have no COVID+ residents at Dufferin Care Center. However, we continue to monitor the residents closely for any symptoms.

We have only one affected staff member who remains home, in self-isolation.

All staff continue to be screened as they enter the building. They also remain cohorted to their respective floors and are wearing masks and goggles while on resident units.

Communication

Communication with all families continues via e-mail. Phone calls to family members will occur only if any residents are placed on precautions. Please refer to our daily updates on the Retirement Concepts Website.

If you have questions related to a specific resident, please address those matters to: info@retirementconcepts.com, and we will respond as quickly as possible.

Lockdown at Dufferin Care Centre

The community remains on mandatory lockdown as per the Order of the Medical Health Officer. We are also following Dr. Bonnie Henry’s order to stop sharing staff between facilities.

Staffing

We continue to be short in our Recreation department. All other Departments are at full staff.

We have opened the kitchen today. However, the dining rooms will remain closed until further notice -and all residents will continue to be served meals in their neighborhoods.

Supplies

We are receiving an adequate amount of PPE supplies both from Corporate and Fraser Health Authority.

Teamwork

As we celebrate Nurses Week at Dufferin Care Center from May 10 – May 16, we want to say “THANK YOU” to the Nurses and the CARE team for their dedication and commitment to the residents. We also extend our deep appreciation to Dietary, Housekeeping and Laundry staff for working so hard during this difficult time. KUDOS also to our one Activity Aide who continues to provide much-needed services to residents.
