This Campus of Care, located in Williams Lake. includes Independent Assisted Living and Residential Care. Williams Lake Seniors Village is able to offer seniors the ability to ‘age in place’. This model is also ideal for couples, enabling them to stay together in the same facility, as their care needs change over the years.
Independent/Assisted/Living Suites
This is for residents who wish to maintain their independence, knowing assistance is available when they need it. Independent/Assisted Living residents need to be Self Directing, and they also need to be mobile (they may use walker and/or wheelchairs as long as they are able to transfer). This is ideal for couples as well as singles.
- Independent/Assisted Living suites are studio, one bedroom, and two bedroom suites
All suites are well appointed and pleasingly decorated
- Furnishings include: kitchenette with bar fridge, fixtures and curtains
- Bathrooms are large and are configured for easy access with higher toilets, walk in showers and plenty of grab bars
- One-step emergency call bells in every suite: living area and bathroom
Independent/Assisted Living Amenities
- A warm, elegant central dining room with two meals included every day
- Bistro gathering area, where residents and guests can enjoy a beverage and snack with family or friends
- Lounges and outdoor areas offer gathering places or a quiet retreat
- Library and internet lounge
- Country kitchen to bake a batch of cookies, or fry an egg
- Bus trips and outings allow residents to access their favourite shops as well as travel to unique locations and attractions
- The General Store is open for business, supplying fresh milk, bread, cereal and a variety of other items
Independent/Assisted Living Entertainment and Activities
We provide the entertainment and activities; you decide what you wish to do. You are welcome to participate in as much as you want, or to take quiet time for yourself. It is your decision.

Residential Care (Skilled Nursing Care)
Residents are cared for by a highly trained, professional and caring staff, in a safe and secure environment.
To ensure intimate, home-like surroundings each mini-community has 15 rooms and its own dining area. Rooms are tastefully decorated in soft colours with comfortable furnishings. Residents are encouraged to bring familiar belongings and decorations to create an atmosphere that is familiar to them and to their families.

- Beautifully appointed, furnished private rooms, each with 2 piece ensuite
- Dietician-planned meals (three meals daily plus snacks)
- Specialized bathing facilities in each mini-community

Residential Care Entertainment and Recreation
Our trained Recreation Staff is dedicated to making time spent at Williams Lake Seniors Village quality time. We want our residents to be able to fill their days with worthwhile activities and entertainment to the best of their ability. We encourage the participation of family and friends. We also respect our residents’ rights to dignity always, and privacy when they wish it.
We take every opportunity to celebrate special occasions: birthdays, holidays, special days, the seasons, and anything else that might be happening.

Staff
Judy Blakely
General Manager
Judy completed her nursing education in Ontario and has been working in the Seniors Long Term Care field throughout her career including, teaching, management and home care evaluation services.
As a consultant to the BC Government, Ministry of Health in the 1970's, Judy worked to set some of the initial standards of care for seniors and long term residents throughout the province.
She spent many years as the Head Nurse at Cariboo Lodge, Williams Lake before moving to Alberta to continue in the management of Seniors Lodges including the development of policies and procedures to ensure the health and safety within these facilities.
Returning to Williams Lake in November of 2008, Judy brings many years of education and experience to her new position and is looking forward to serving her home community once again.

Shelley Walters
Administrative Coordintor
Shelley started at Williams Lake Seniors Village as Receptionist/Scheduler in March 2009 before taking over the duties of Administrative Coordinator in August 2009.
Prior to working at WLSV, Shelley worked in the Forest Industry at a wide variety of duties which included bookkeeping, safety officer, receptionist and Forestry Clerk. She also work 12 years for the City of Williams Lake as an accounting clerk.
Shelley brings great organizational and bookkeeping skills and says she loves working in this new environment and has learned to love life more fully working with the Seniors.

Iris Fraser
Director of Care
Iris joined the Williams Lake Seniors Village in March of 2007 as the evening RN. In November of 2007 Iris took on the role of Director of Care. Iris brings with her, a wealth of experience in gerontology, and enjoys providing a high level of holistic nursing care to our residents. Iris looks forward to coordinating our goal oriented care team to provide the highest level of care through an approach focusing on dignity, respect and individuality, in a home like setting.

Nancy Giesbrecht
Marketing Coordinator
Nancy has lived in Williams Lake since 1995 and joined Williams Lake Seniors Village as Marketing Coordinator in May 2008. Nancy has spent 30 years working in office administration which included self-employment, working as a temporary employee and consultant, as well as teaching customer service and office procedure courses.
She spent 5 years as the manager at Williams Lake Seniors’ Activity Centre, handling day-to-day operations, public relations, and fund-raising activities.
Nancy thoroughly enjoys interacting with seniors and looks forward to assisting them in a smooth transition to their new home.
