Paula James
General Manager
Paula who is originally from Saskatchewan fell in love with the Interior and all it has to offer when she worked as the Nursing Care Coordinator in Merritt from 2001-2005.
She has worked in a variety of clinical and management positions throughout her 20 year nursing career, with the majority being in Regina, Saskatchewan. She recently moved back to the Interior from Grande Prairie, Alberta in August 2008 where she was the Administrator/Director of Care at the Grande Prairie Care Centre.
She started her career in Gerontology, specializing in Alzheimer's and dementia care and has always felt a connect with seniors care, since her early childhood. She attributes this to growing up with her grandparents across the railroad tracks in the small village of Mistatim, Saskatchewan.
Paula graduated as a Registered Nurse from the Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Science & Technology in 1989, completed a Post RN Degree from the University of Saskatchewan in 1997 and is in the process of completing her Masters of Health Studies in Leadership from Athabasca University in June 2009.
Paula is delighted to serve as a professional role model for all staff and improve the quality of life for seniors through ensuring all aspects of facility operation and its reputation in the community. |
