Dufferin Care Centre

The Dufferin Care Centre is a Resident Centered, Multilevel Care facility specializing in caring for people with a wide variety of needs. Of the 153 beds located at the Centre, 25 rooms are available for individuals interested in private care.

The remaining 128 beds are funded/governed by Integrated Client Services (Continuing Care) as part of the Fraser Health Authority and access to those beds is through assessment by a Continuing Care Case Manager (or a Care Coordinator if in hospital).

Each of the single or double rooms is furnished and includes an en suite washroom. Residents are encouraged to decorate and personalize their rooms to create a more familiar and home-like atmosphere.

Regularly scheduled on-site services such as foot care and dental care are also available.

Entertainment and Recreation

Our recreation staff and volunteers are dedicated to offering activities and entertainment for our residents to take part in and enjoy. We also respect our residents’ rights to dignity always and privacy when they wish it.

Dining Services

Nutritious meals and snacks are prepared in-house, with menus posted daily in all dining areas. Special dietary needs are accommodated.

Staff

Pat Kittler General Manager Pat grew up in Saskatchewan and moved to British Columbia in 1998. Pat has worked in management for over 20 years both in Retail and Health Care. Pat earned a Certificate in Health Care Administration (Long Term Care) from the University of Saskatchewan. Pat joined Retirement Concepts in February 2008.	Email
Elaine Drysdale Administrative Coordinator Elaine has been with Retirement Concepts since September 2008. She is the Administrative Coordinator at Dufferin Care Centre. She has completed accounting courses at B.C.I.T. and UBC.  Elaine has previously worked in accounting in Construction and the Movie industry before working in Healthcare.	Email

Doris Robinson Marketing Coordinator Doris has recently joined Dufferin Care Centre as our Marketing Coordinator. She has resided in the ever-expanding Coquitlam for the past 3 years and plays an active role in the community. Doris has worked in a marketing/sales capacity for the last 10 years. Her goal is to ensure peace of mind for prospective families by providing accurate and timely information. Doris looks forward to working with the families and staff at Dufferin.

Shannon Johnson Director of Care Shannon has been working in Nursing since 1998 and has been employed by Abbey Therapeutics since 2005. She brings with her several years experience in acute care, psycho-geriatrics and long term care. Shannon joined the Dufferin Care Centre as the Director of Care in October 2007 and is committed to enhancing the quality of care and services for the Residents who reside here.
