The Villa is an 80 bed Residential Care (skilled nursing) facility, located next to Beacon Hill Park near downtown Victoria in James Bay. The Villa offers 24 hour professional nursing care, delicious meals in an elegant dining room, and a full recreation program. All beds are funded by Continuing Care.
Residential Care (Skilled Nursing Care)
Residents are cared for by highly trained, professional and caring staff, in a safe and secure environment. Family and friends are encouraged to visit frequently and spend time with residents. Residents are welcome to bring familiar belongings to help create a home-like atmosphere in their own living space.

Three delicious meals and numerous tasty snacks served daily in our elegant dining room, under the guidance of a registered nutritionist

Licensed facility subsidized by the Vancouver Island Health Authority, providing nursing and personal care to residents who meet the eligibility requirements of the Provincial Long Term Care program
Residential Care Entertainment and Recreation
Our trained Recreation Staff is dedicated to making time spent at Beacon Hill Villa quality time. We want our residents to be able to fill their days with worthwhile activities and entertainment to the best of their ability. We encourage the participation of family and friends. We also respect our resident’s rights to dignity always and privacy when they wish it.
We take every opportunity to celebrate special occasions: - birthdays, holidays, special days, the seasons and anything else that might be happening.
An active group of volunteers assists our staff in offering the following activities:
- Wheelchair accessible bus available for weekly outings.
- Exercise classes
- Walking groups
- Music, entertainers and interesting speakers
- Small group and one on one activities
- Special Event Parties
Staff
Linda Hanford
General Manager
Linda Hanford, General Manager, brings almost 40 years of progressive experience in nursing practice, education, research, and management, both in Canada and in England, to Beacon Hill Villa.
An expert in dementia care, she holds a Bachelor of Nursing degree from University of New Brunswick, a Masters of Applied Science degree in nursing education and nursing administration from McGill University, and the Canadian Nurses Association Certificate in Gerontology Nursing.
