To all Millrise Seniors Village Family Members:

The staff and management at Millrise Seniors Village are grateful for your continuous support as we continue to work diligently to care for your loved ones. Our residents are our number one priority.

We also wish to clarify that this status update and reference to positive cases are related to our Supportive Living Unit – NOT the long term care unit.

Status Update

All residents continue to be monitored closely and their care needs are being met in the best manner possible.

The total number of residents who have tested positive has increased by one – and now total three, all of whom remain in isolation.

We continue to monitor our residents and should anyone be symptomatic, they are swabbed, placed in isolation as a precaution until lab result are known, and families are informed.

Today, we also have one additional staff member who has tested positive, bringing the total to two, each of whom are home and in self-isolation.

We continue to screen our staff upon entrance into our building and midway through their shift.


Communication with all families continues via e-mail, while daily phone calls to family members of the three directly impacted residents continue. If there are any changes in other residents, families will be updated immediately.

We also communicating with our impacted staff three times per week.

We continue to be in daily communication with Alberta Health Services representatives as well as with our Site Medical Director. Their support, advice and direction is truly appreciated.

Lockdown at Millrise Seniors Village

The community remains on mandatory lockdown as per the Order of the Medical Health Officer.

We are continuing to adhere to the order to stop sharing staff between facilities and we are diligently following all Alberta Health Services procedures.


Today we are fully staffed in the Laundry, housekeeping and Clinical department but remain short staffed in Dietary and Recreation departments. Today is our second day of “outsourced” meals.


We continue to monitor our supplies closely. We have received emergency supplies through our Corporate Procurement as well as Alberta Health Services.


Our staff continue to show tremendous dedication and commitment in caring for our residents. We want to continue to express our sincere thanks to the staff at Millrise Seniors Village and to our Pandemic Response Team for supporting us during this challenging time.
