Maple Ridge Seniors Village in Covid-19 Outbreak Mode; Residents isolated to their rooms: Site Visitations cancelled.

Hello Everyone:

West Coast Seniors Housing Management has been informed that a case (1)of COVID-19 has been confirmed involving a staff member at Maple Ridge Seniors Village. That staff member is home and in self-isolation.

While no residents are symptomatic, out of an abundance of caution, we have isolated residents to their respective rooms on the 1st and 3rd floors, where their meals are also being provided.

All other staff members are being tested.

We will continue to monitor residents closely and should anyone be symptomatic, they will be swabbed, placed in isolation as a precaution until lab results are known, and their families will be informed.

Pease know that the care and safety of residents is our number one priority, and we are treating the situation very seriously. To that end, please note that that family visitations have been cancelled for the time being, and all group activities have been terminated.

Communication

As a result of the one confirmed case of COVID-19, we will be providing families with a daily email update. Should the condition of any resident change, their family will be notified immediately.

To inquire about facetime/skype or phone calls, please contact Kim Knudsen, Manager of Recreation & Volunteer Services at kknudsen@retirementconcepts.com or call 604-476-4320.

Meal Services

Our kitchen staff are continuing to offer choices in meal preferences, as we did previously when resident dined in prior to COVID-19.  In the meantime, the dining room is closed, and tray service is being delivered to each suite.

Deliveries

All deliveries will be received at the front desk. This includes groceries, medications, and gifts. All will be sanitized and delivered directly to the resident’s suites.

Dropping items off: We would ask that families please follow these guidelines as I am sure you want your parent or loved one to get their deliveries in a timely manner.

  1. Please use plastic bags, no reusable bags
  2. Make sure to label all bags with resident name and room number
  3. Try to limit drop offs to essential items. There are days when staff are overwhelmed trying to keep up.

Teamwork

We wish to thank staff, residents and families for their anticipated cooperation and understanding as we move through this period of uncertainty.

Sincerely,

The MRSV Leadership Team
