Millrise Seniors Village staff would like to extend a sincere thank you to families and loved ones of residents during this difficult period. Should you have any items you wish to drop off for a resident, please feel to do so, knowing we will fully sanitize.
Over the last several days, we have received a number of questions – directly or on our Facebook Page – about specific residents. Please know that we cannot release private information to those who are not listed in our files as a direct contact, so if there are detailed questions by extended family members or loved ones, please ensure they are posed by whomever is the direct contact.
Should you have questions related to a specific resident, please address those matters to: email@example.com. As you might expect, staff are extremely busy, but we will respond as quickly as possible.
Today, the number of residents who have tested positive, totals seven – all of whom are in isolation and being closely monitored (five in Supported Living and two in Long Term Care)
Alberta Health Services continues to test all residents. We will communicate results as they are provided to us.
We continue to monitor our residents, and should anyone be symptomatic, they are swabbed, placed in isolation as a precaution until lab result are known, and families are informed.
The number of COVID-positive staff remains at seven, all of whom are home and in self-isolation. We are in contact with each three times per week.
We continue to screen our staff upon entrance into our building and midway through their shift.
Communication with all families continues via e-mail, while daily phone calls to family members of the three directly impacted residents continue. If there are any changes in other residents, families will be updated immediately.
Please Note: as a result of the current workload involving staff, they are unable to facilitate FaceTime or Skype conversations until further notice.
We are communicating with our impacted staff three times per week.
We continue to be in daily communication with Alberta Health Services representatives as well as with our Site Medical Director.
Starting Tuesday, April 21, Alberta Health will be publicly posting information on confirmed COVID-19 outbreaks in Alberta when there are two or more cases at a facility. Information will be posted at: Alberta.ca/covid19.
Please refer to our daily updates on the Retirement Concepts Website and Facebook Page.
Lockdown at Millrise Seniors Village
The community remains on mandatory lockdown as per the Order of the Medical Health Officer.
We are continuing to adhere to the order to stop sharing staff between facilities and we are diligently following all Alberta Health Services procedures.
We have full team and great staff-service has not been impacted. Today is day five of “outsourced” meals.
We continue to monitor our supplies closely. We have received emergency supplies through our Corporate Procurement as well as Alberta Health Services.
We wish to thank staff for their dedication and commitment. A sincere thanks is also in order to our Pandemic Response Team for supporting us during this challenging time.
