To Family Members of Millrise Residents
As you are reading and hearing through the media, the COVID-19 pandemic is proving to be challenging for Millrise Seniors Village staff, residents, and their family members. This was a particularly difficult day for staff, residents and families as a resident who previously tested positive, passed away today. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family at this difficult time.
All residents have been tested, but should any exhibit symptoms, they will be re-swabbed and placed in isolation as a precaution until test results are known. Should the condition of any resident change, we will contact the family immediately.
The circumstances have been very much impacted by the number of management and front-line staff who have been placed in self-isolation at home in recent days, and the number of staff who have taken leaves of absence for various reasons. However, it’s important to note that during this period, in spite of challenges, all residents received the care and attention they need and require – and have been provided catered food from an external restaurant.
Alberta Health Services has stepped in to supplement staff and we are appreciative for their assistance during this difficult period. This has also allowed us to add additional resources and ensure families of COVID-positive families are contacted each day (in additional to a daily email that goes to all family members each day with an update on the status of Millrise).
We know this matter is of great concern and anxiety for families and other loved ones, and please know we are doing our best to ensure the care and safety of all residents.
