The Wellesley receives BCSLA Seal of Approval

September 20, 2010

Victoria, BC – The BC Seniors Living Association (BCSLA) announced today that The Wellesley has been awarded the Seal of Approval designation.

BCSLA launched its Seal of Approval program in November 2009, which  assesses their member communities for the highest quality of standards within the Senior Living Communities.

Amir Hemani, President of BCSLA, states, “The Seal of Approval is a self  assessment and external review of five areas within a senior living community that assures the senior and their family the very best quality of services and care.” The assessment process details criteria within each of the five areas – Safety, Infection Control, Staff Training, Resident Services, and Assisted Living – which must be met in order to achieve and be rewarded the designation.

What does this mean to seniors? Amir states, “By ‘raising the bar’ to achieve the Seal of Approval, The Wellesley has shown a commitment to provide service standards of Excellence, Integrity, Leadership, and True Passion for senior residents of today and tomorrow.” BCSLA congratulates them on this commitment to their residents’ care and well-being.

Located centrally on Blanchard Street in Victoria, the Wellesley has been for many years been the focal point of many Victoria families and their retired parents. Originally designed for Independent Living only, in recent years Assisted Living suites have been added, enabling residents to receive the assistance required to remain independent. A majestic open space lounge welcomes residents and their guests. The Wellesley truly is the epitome of luxurious living in true Victorian style.
