Maria Salzano | Director of Human Resources
Maria has a wealth of senior-level HR management experience, having initially qualified, and practiced, as a lawyer specializing in labour and employment law in the early part of her career. After practicing law for 5 years, Maria joined MacDonald’s Restaurants as HR Manager, supporting 500 + restaurants and more than 50,000 employees across multiple Provinces.
After 8 years, Maria accepted a position as HR Manager with Vincor Canada – “the largest producer and marketer of wine and related products in Canada”. With a staff of 3, Maria was responsible for all HR issues relating to the company’s wineries, production & distribution facilities and sales & marketing teams.
Most recently, Maria was employed with Translink (the multi-modal public transportation network, with 6 subsidiaries – Skytrain, Coast Mountain Bus, etc – and in excess of 6,000 employees) as Director, Human Resources. Managing a team of 6, Maria led and managed their HR and LR related issues, processes and programs which included recruitment, retention, performance management and compensation.
With a combination of HR and legal expertise acquired in both the public and private (for profit) sectors, Maria is looking forward to supporting and helping us develop and build on our existing HR policies, practices, and procedures.
