MICHELE GOODSELL (General Manager of Guildford Seniors Village) is going to Haiti! July 30, 2010
Our very own General Manager of Guildford Seniors Village is going to Haiti.
She is traveling with an organization called ‘Healing Hands for Haiti‘, and it is the Canadian arm of this organization. There is a video that you can watch, click here.
She leaves in early November for two weeks and she will be assisting children in orphanages with physicial and developemental disabilities as well as adults and seniors who have suffered the effects of strokes, amputations, complex wounds and chronic illness/disease.
She is calling on any one of you that may have children’s toys that could be brought to Haiti. She is filling two hockey bags (max 110 Lbs).
The following items are what she is looking for:
-Board books (French preferred, but English is appreiciated), 0-5yr toys (plastic, wood or anything that can be easily washed). Lego, balls, bubbles, blocks, musical toys, pop-up toys, rattles, wood puzzles, baby bottles, sippy cups, baby spoons, dark-skinned dolls/Barbie’s). Clothing and paper books are not needed as they soil/mildew easily.
She will be working with many adults with strokes, so adapted utensils (nosey cups, etc) that you may have lying around the facility that is not in use would be very much appreciated.
She sincerely appreciates any support that you can help her with.
She will need to raise approximately $3,000.00 which will cover travel costs and housing while in Haiti.
If you know anyone who would like to sponsor Michele, she can receive cheques made out to Team Canada Healing Hands, but please contact her directly and by email mgoodsell@retirementconcepts.com. Should she exceed the $3,000.00 goal, all monies go directly to initiatives in Haiti, but I am “credited” with the dollars to be applied to future trips within the next 12 months. All donations over $20.00 are subject to a tax receipt.
She will be writing in her blog as well:

Please follow and support Michele on her journey for a wonderful cause. All of us here at Retirement Concepts are are proud of her.
